I’ve been tagged by the talented historical romance author Gerri Bowen (author of For Love of Gwynneth) in a blog game called The Next Big Thing. Seems like fun! Let’s take a look-see on what I’m doing now…
What is your working title of your book?
THE HIGHLANDER’S LADY
Where did the idea come from for the book?
From the vast recesses of my over-active imagination 🙂 I love hot, alpha Highland heroes. This book is actually the 3rd in my Stolen Bride Series. The first two books were about Magnus and Blane who are brothers. This book is about their rogue cousin. An adventure to be sure!
What genre does your book fall under?
Scottish Historical Romance
Oh, I love this question! Let me see… Joe Manganiello and Eva Green
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Alone in a world full of danger and the future of her clan at stake, Lady Myra must trust the handsome, charismatic Highland laird–Daniel–who promises to keep her safe—and sets her heart to pounding.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
This book, as the first two, will also be self-published. The first two books have both continually held spots on Amazon’s Historical Romance and Historical Fiction best-seller lists since their releases as well as received rave reviews!
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Without making anyone cry… 5 weeks.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I’ve had reviewers compare me to Julie Garwood 🙂 That was cool!
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
My love of Scotland, Highlanders, adventure, romance and love!
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Laird Daniel Murray seeks adventure, battle and freedom for his countrymen. Putting off his duties as laird—with a promise to his clan he’ll return come spring—Daniel sets off with his men to fight alongside William Wallace and the Bruce. But soon he stumbles across an enchanting lady in need. She tantalizes him with an offer he simply can’t refuse and a desire he attempts to dismiss.
Escaping near death at the treacherous hands of a nearby clan, Lady Myra must find the Bruce and relay the news of an enemy within his own camp. Alone in a world full of danger and the future of her clan at stake, she must trust the handsome, charismatic Highland laird who promises to keep her safe on her journey—and sets her heart to pounding.
Together, Daniel and Myra will risk not only their lives, but their hearts while discovering the true meaning of hope and love in a world fraught with unrest.
Thank you so much for visiting with me to talk a little about my work in progress! THE HIGHLANDER’S LADY will release on 12/15/12!! Just in time for the holidays and cold winter nights 🙂
